DPCI and MC Research, Ltd. Announce a strategic sales and development partnership

London, U.K. - January 6, 2000 - DPCI, a United-States based integration company, announces a strategic partnership with the UK-based MC Research, a software technology company focusing on cross-platform database publishing technologies. The sales and development partnership is geared toward advancing the technology more aggressively in 2000.

"We have been focusing our attention, with great success, in the European publishing community. Our alliance with DPCI will allow us to forge a more vigorous development campaign to answer the needs of the American marketplace," states Chris Laing, Director of Technology for MC Research. "Publishers have an increasing pressure to create Web and print applications that can directly integrate with RDBMS technology in a media-independent way. MC Research comes with a strong technology to answer subtle problems in repurposing content to print and web," states Joseph Bachana, President of DPCI.

Among these questions are how Quark documents can be mined for content, how the power of XML and XSL may optimally be tapped in cross-platform publishing environments, and how legacy databases can be either used or migrated to serve data for catalog, direct mail, directory, and listings publications without data re-entry. Among the goals implicit in the partnership is the development of new technology to aid content "miners" in getting at data locked within QuarkXPress. Other technology will include more thorough integration of LinkUp with digital asset management technology, with Quark Publishing System, and with other editorial and production technologies. "With DPCI, we feel we'll have the North American presence that we've been missing for some time now. We're confident that their stewardship will help us advance database publishing technology dramatically in the years to come," states Mitch Konstantinovic, Director of Sales and Marketing at MC Research.
