New York, NY - April 27, 2020 - DPCI is proud to announce its 21st year as a global leader in multichannel technology consulting. For two decades, DPCI has implemented innovative content technologies on behalf of its customers, many of whom have retained DPCI’s services since inception.
DPCI began operations in 1999 when Joe Bachana, the company’s founder and President, first established the organization’s goal of helping customers “Publish Anywhere, Anytime.” The concept was to centralize content in a database repository so that it could be published in Print, Web, and Mobile devices. Hence the name, Database Publishing Consultants, Inc.
To support the vision, DPCI leveraged content management, digital asset management, workflow management, and multichannel technologies. DPCI’s groundbreaking innovation was to integrate these technologies to help customers improve the way they create, manage, enrich and deliver content to digital and print channels. With this approach, customers could count on content reliability, follow best practices in curation policy management, and ensure content preservation.
Among DPCI’s earliest projects included multi-channel publishing solutions for Publishers Clearing House and Jobson Publishing, who are still customers today, among a host of customers that are household names, including Comcast, the United Nations, Blue Apron, the NEA, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, ESPN, Fast Company, the City of Houston, and many others.
Since 1999, DPCI has developed into a boutique firm that leads the industry with cutting-edge implementations of open source Drupal CMS integrated with open source EnterMedia DAM and provides robust implementation services for vjoon K4 workflow software, integrated with the aforementioned technologies. To expand upon the content technology integration possibilities, DPCI most recently announced a partnership with OpenKM to implement open source document and records management solutions, and has also begun to offer integration support between Drupal and CiviCRM open source constituent relationship management software.
In recent years, DPCI has grown its virtual CTO service offering, led by its CEO Bachana. “What we found over the years was that companies didn’t have the internal expertise to make good technology decisions,” states Bachana. “This includes technology selection, implementation, staff hiring, and even the workflows and procedures that technical staff should use. A great joy has been to help organizations get on a better path to make better technology decisions that optimize the investment dollars.”
